Asian cold-rolled coil prices fell for the fourth week June 25, amid weak demand and slashed offers.
Platts assessed SPCC grade 1 mm thick CRC at $568/mt FOB China June 25, down $9/mt on the week.
Mills’ export offers shifted down $5-$25/mt, ranging over $580-$605/mt FOB China. High offers seemed very rare as mainstream mills all slashed their prices to a level fit for deals.
Mills’ tradable levels also varied, ranging from below $570 to $590/mt FOB China. “The demand for CRC is as ‘cold’ as HRC, the market has been quiet this week,” a northern Chinese mill source said.
Platts assessed the same CRC grade at Yuan 4,100/mt exstock June 25, including value-added tax, in the Shanghai dealers’ market, down Yuan 20/mt on the week.
